= filetype
расширение имени файла
необязательная часть имени файла, следующая за точкой после собственно имени файла. Обычно содержит от одного до трёх символов, дополняющих само имя (например, read.me), либо указывающих на тип файла, т. е. на тип хранящихся в нём данных. Примеры: ".txt" - для текстовых файлов, ".for" - для файлов с исходными текстами на языке Fortran, ".doc" - для документов, созданных текстовым процессором, ".ps" - для PostScript-файлов и т. д. (см. Приложение 1)
